Our Story
Founded in 2019, Battle Republic started with a simple idea: create something different. Inspired by the energy of big-city boxing studios, Leah Drury and Lindsey Miller Neal brought that experience to Birmingham, Alabama, building a space where training feels powerful, community runs deep, and showing up means something.
What began as a bold leap quickly turned into more than a workout. It became a place where people push past limits, find their edge, and walk out stronger—in body, mind, and life.
Leah Drury | Co-Founder
Leah Drury doesn’t believe in shortcuts.
A small-town Alabama native, former University of Alabama basketball captain, and coach for the Seattle Storm, Leah has built her life around discipline, consistency, and doing the work—long before Battle Republic existed.
She didn’t set out to create just another workout. She helped build a space where training actually means something—where boxing and strength come together, where you’re pushed to focus, and where showing up becomes a habit, not a question.
Leah leads the way she was trained: with intention, accountability, and the belief that you’re capable of far more than you think.
Lindsey Miller Neal | Co-Founder
Battle Republic was born out of grit, sweat, and Lindsey Miller Neal’s vision to create something different.
She didn’t want just another gym—she wanted a place where people could walk in carrying the weight of their day and leave feeling stronger, clearer, more like themselves.
Before this, Lindsey helped lead Zoe's Kitchen through its journey to becoming a public company. Now, as the founder of Mpire Concepts—and as a mom and wife—she brings that same discipline, heart, and intention into everything she builds.
From day one, her mission has been simple: help people fight for more—more strength, more confidence, more life.

Every class is a 45-minute, full-body workout. Spend half of the class swinging punches at our state-of-the-art water bags and the other half of the class doing floorwork and kettlebell work getting that peach into shape. Bottom line: the playlist is hype, the lights are low, and the results are out of this world.
